Bush Fire

From the National Nine News:

West Australian firefighters battling a five-day old bushfire are concentrating their efforts on protecting residents and properties on Perth’s eastern outskirts.

Fire authorities have warned people living in a number of suburbs and communities along the eastern border of the West Australian capital to prepare for the possible passage of the blaze, or evacuate.

A thick pall of smoke from the blaze that has burnt out more than 14,000 hectares has settled over Perth, affecting visibility and permeating homes and city offices.

When I woke up this morning, I smelt something burnt, as if there’s a fire nearby. You can smell it everywhere!! Looking out my window in my office now, everything seem so hazy and it’s getting worse as the hour pass. I hope the condition will get better soon as it’s quite hard to breathe in these condition.

In reply to Pia commenting that my site has turned into a movie blog, it was just a coincidence that I watched those movies continuously those past few days. Hehe.

I had noticed the smoke clouds gathering sometime on Sunday, and last night it was starting to appear much bigger and by 2am I could smell the burning fires even though I’m a distance away.

Now I’m staying in - the smoke and haze are too rancid.

Hi Michelle, hope it rains so the fire can stop and the ashes in the air can settle. Otherwise everyone has to wear a filter paper nose mask to block dirt from going to the lungs and cause problem to the throat and lungs. :yuck:
