After Schapelle Corby’s drug smuggling case in Indonesia a while back, now it’s Adelaide-born model, Michelle Leslie’s turn. She is being accused of possessing two ecstasy tablets in Bali.
After all these drug trafficking cases, why are there still people bringing drugs overseas? However, the really important question is why are they involved with drugs in the first place? Didn’t they go to school? Aren’t the aware that drugs are bad? Seriously, what has the world become of now?
Everyone should know that smuggling drugs, especially to Asian countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia, carries a death sentence!! The thing I am most curious about Michelle Leslie’s case is that when I was watching the news on tv last night, i saw her covered up in hijab (Islamic dress) and claimed that she’s a Muslim.
Australian solicitor Ross Hill, who is working with Leslie’s team of five Indonesian lawyers, said the Sydney-based model was a Muslim and the Islamic dress was a response to the heavy media presence in Bali.
Was a Muslim? What is that? What is she doing? Does that mean she used to be a Muslim, and then changed to a different religion, and then back to Muslim now that she’s convicted of a crime in an Islamic country? Is she trying to use religion as a protective shield and gained sympathy? I don’t know.
Leslie, who is of Australian and Philippines heritage, models underwear, swimwear and other clothes, and last year appeared in little more than body paint for a modelling assignment.
As far as I’m concern and according to the Quran (Islamic bible), Muslims are not supposed to wear clothes that reveals too much of their bodies but rather cover themselves up most of the time.

You are right. Muslim women are required to dress modestly but sadly, as you can see, many Muslims dress quite provocatively nowadays.
I read about Michelle Leslie’s case, didnt know she’s Muslim. What a disgrace!
*speechless*
Interesting. . .I hadn’t heard about the “Muslim” turn of events. I suppose she *could* be, but it’s pretty suspicious that she would suddenly become, or revert to, being Muslim.
Off topic, but I love the photos of your puppy up there! I have to admit that I’m not a huge fan of dogs, but yours is darling and appears to have quite a spark of personality that shows through in photos!
ok.? a muslim who models wearing basically nothing…yet walks around fully clothed in the isLamic dress. datz strange.
so wadz her sentence>? shouldn’t be DATTTT bad rite? seeing dat itz only two ecstacy tablets…not lyk a whole bag. dun tell me itz STILL death sentence…datz lyk WAY harsh. itz not rite? hmMM.
I think her train of thoughts has gone wild. I’m rendered speechless too. Not really appropriate ot voice my opinions about religious stuff.
yeh.. i read that too..
the thing is that with the media coverage and all, i guess having the islam dress can you know, cover her face and all.. further, coz she is so pretty and all, i read a report about the police being all provocative towards her and stuff.. so she is just covering up to protect herself i guess..
but up to 15 years in jail for pocessing 2 tablets of estacy i think is pretty harsh..
btw.. she models under the name michelle lee! hahaha..
that is like ur name! lolx
har???r u serious she models under the name of mich????
whoa…kewlXD
as if that’s not enough, Rafidah Aziz was criticised by Najib for hugging Mahathir during the merdeka celebrations. Jeez.
Hey Michelle… my first comment on your fantastic blog
i have heard that she is saying that she is muslim so that she can cover her face in court… you arent legally allowed to wear a wig or hat or anything in court and she doesnt want this case to ruin her modelling career. you are right though, if she was really muslim she would never have posed barely nude in the first place! even though i am an atheist i completely disagree with ‘adopting’ a faith for reasons such as this. it is sad that someone can be in trouble for so little (i know it is illegal), but shouldnt they be using her to find the dealer rather than locking her up?!
guys,
i know michelle. my best friend dated her when we were growing up. we hung out, did what early 20s people would do..and that included drugs.
shes aloof. shes proud. and shes a model. she was pretty wild when we were growing up… judging by some of the things ive seen and experienced with her and my friend… not to mention the fact that she was instrumental in the breakup of a relationship of mine, to which i had no control or knowledge….
she said shes never seen a pill before.
and her family BELIEVES shes never taken drugs before…(what family wouldnt?)
i can testify she has…and how.
im upset over this. so is my friend whom i cant mention. they were together for 4 years if my memory serves me correctly.
ive watched this with great interest, and have been reading about it everyday.
i know but one thing.
i cannot judge her. i did the same things as her..but thankfully God hasnt let me be caught in a web of such a life. that is past me. but i see through some of her lies, as i knew her and know for a fact that some of what she says is crap.
let the indonesian govt. deal with her as their laws imply and enforce.I thought she was smarter than this. its stupid to use the crap but to take it to a ZERO tolerance country like Bali is like asking to get the death sentence. AND all this after so many other aussies have had their lives taken away because of the same type of thing.
added to this is her supposed conversion to islam. yeah…right. she laughed in Gods face when we spent time together….
since when did muslim encourage body painted nudity?!!
it only serves to show me how hypocritical she is and now unfortunately for her, its painfully obvious.
she deserves it. and shes only got herself, her lifestyle and her friends to blame.
as for schappelle…i didnt know her..so i cant say.
but the evidence and all ive read does point to her being innocent.
what a SHOCKINGLY run justice system, but!
its a tragedy, but one that could have been avoided.
i still pray for her. God have mercy.
AZ
I’m sick of people going off at this girl. What the hell are people angry at? That she was smart? Anyone who says they wouldn’t do what ever it took to stay out of an Indonesian jail forever for such a minor thing (if they weren’t planted) is a complete hypocrite!
