Cruel Defeat For West Coast Eagles

Grand Final

To be honest, this is the first time I have ever watch Australian footy from the beginning of the game till the end. Probably it was because it’s the Grand Final today and one of the teams, West Coast Eagles is from WA (Western Australia).

The Grand Final is between West Coast Eagles and Sydney Swans. Unfortunately, the Eagles lost.

West Coast’s magnificent season has come to a cruel and heartbreaking end, beaten in tightest, closest and most exciting Grand Final since the club entered the competition in 1987.

It was a very tight game, where the Eagles lost by 4 points. I was screaming towards the ends, just one goal!!! Ah well :(

You can read more about it here.

I’ve gotta admit, I’ve never seen Australian footy. I’m a fan of American football. But I’m sure I’d like any sport that’s commonly called “footy.” What a cool name.

    Go Swans!

This was my first season watching AFL and as I love all things Sydney (I’m British), I decided to follow the Sydney Swans without knowing too much about them. Guess I picked a good team!

I live in the US so sadly I’ve never seen Australian football. Seems like you had a fun time watching the game though.
