I’ve been slacking in updating my blog. Sorry!! :dead: The only thing that I’ve been knitting is the Bolshoi (ballet wrap cardigan) as Cindy calls it. I’m up to knitting the left front now but I’m quite worried at the moment looking at the size at it turns out. I’m knitted the smallest size as I have quite a small frame (size 8 seems loose on me at times) but I guess I will have to block it once it’s finish to really know if it turns out ok or not.
I’ll cry if it doesn’t fit me!!
Haven’t been able to snap any shots of my bolshoi for the time being because as usual, camera’s ran out of battery :-P. Hopefully will be able to post some nice pictures by the end of this week.
Speaking of fingerless mittens, I still haven’t decide whether to knit Fetching or Voodoo. What do you reckon? Bear in mind I have never knitted cables before and have no idea how. Eeeks!!

this is a good cable tutorial. But then again, I too am a “cable virgin”! Good luck. You might inspire me to make them too!
Dear Michelle, the beauty of the Bolshoi is that it is wrap around, so it is quite forgiving!! I can’t wait to see your pictures!! I have every faith in you!!! Cabls are fine…you will be fine. They are hardly scary at all.
Personally I like the Voodoo ones - I think cables look too butch for female hands - :-P:cute:
Fetching lah… gives you an opportunity to start on cabling… i can lend you my needles… if you wan :cute:
Both look good & will give you the chance to use dpns & knit in the round. Cables are easy - it’s still knitting but putting the stitches on a cable needle. Have no fear, try it ! If not, I will be more than happy to show you how when we next meet.
Try cabling - learning something new is always good. : )
Also - I think that the fetching ones are quite cute!
Knit the cable one! I am so mad with myself for waiting so long to learn how to knit cables…. I only started learning cables for about 3,5 years ago. And it is soooooooo easy! I cant for the life of me figure out why I waited so long…..
Michelle - I have this great little panda learn to knit book that explains cables really really easily - you could do a little practice swatch. Ill email you the instructions and diagrams if you need them - Im even tempted to have a little play tomorrow and see how I go. It sounds very easy like all the other ladies have said in the comments.:-D
Cables are my favourite, I love them and they are much easier than they look.
I prefer the Voodoo ones.
Cables may look hard and fancy but they are VERY easy!

Hello Michelle. I think you’re my partner in dishcloth swap. At least this is the link which Rachel has sent me.
Will post some of the patterns I’m considering later on.
I’m pretty new to knitting, and this link shows the squares I’ve done for my afghan. http://boredbitchyangel.blogspot.com/2006/08/knitting-backwards-860-done.html
The cable pattern looks fancy. I’m intimidated with cable pattern, but purchased my first pair of cable needles today.
Also was brave enough to buy a 4 needle set for circular pattern dishcloth.
I think Fetching mittens are more special!
I think fetching is very nice. Plus it would be a nice small project to cut your cabling teeth on.
My vote is for fetching.
Hey, we’re both in the Dishcloth Swap!!!!! Cool!!!
