Project 35: Dishcloth Swap

Pattern: Lacy Mock Cable Cloth
Yarn: 1 ball of Anchor Magicline Colour #1420
Needles: 4 mm

This is the 1st dishcloth that I have ever knitted and it was such a fun and quick project!! :cute:I’m foreseeing many dishcloths to come!! Haha!! The anchor yarn is so colourful, thought a little pricey just for a small ball of 50g. Also, I find that in Australia, there aren’t many nice cotton yarns compare to the US where they have so many varieties and they come in so many colours. I’m so jealous. Wish we could have more of those nice yarns over here.

Now I’m thinking if I should get myself some Sugar’n Cream yarns that are so yummy from eBay. Hmm…

    Grats on your dishcloth!

Anchor is sooo expensive - but it is lovely to knit with, and such pretty colours. I have a couple of Cleckheaton bambino multi colours, but they are wool. I think cotton is much nicer for socks [which I would love to try in the Anchor cottons].

I am considering doing that pattern for my 3rd one for the same dishcloth swap you are in! I have cast it on and done a few rows…But am not sure if I will stick with it. Your’s looks great!

I got 90% of my cotton from op shops. Bendigo has LOVELY cotton (not a huge variety of colours) but its lovely. I have some planning on making my daughters cardigans for spring. This was last year! lol. Still havent started.

Your dishcloth looks great especially the colors. I also started one in the same pattern using my leftover Jo Sharp cotton & it’s looking good. Jo Sharp does have nice cotton in great colors - check out her website for the colors & if you want some, let me know:-)

Out of all the cottons I have ever knitted with, sugar ‘n cream is worth getting hold of if you can. I love it and will be ordering more.

Whoever gets your dish cloths is one lucky person, I wouldn’t want to use it for dishes though, too pretty for such a boring chore!!!

YAY! Beautiful dishcloth! The colors are fantastic. I’m telling you if you want me to get your some Sugar and Cream and send it to you I’ll do it. It’s still on sale for less than $1US around here.

Your dishcloth rocks girl!! Almost too pretty too use on dishes.LOL The yarn you used makes the cables pop. I have never heard of this yarn but here in the states the Sugar and Cream yarn is at Walmart and it’s cheap! Like $1.69 for a ball of it.

    Your dishcloth is gorgeous!

Yeah, finding nice cotton here is a PITA (Pain In The A$$). Compared to the Anchor, the Sugar ‘n’ Cream is a little coarser (the Anchor’s silkier). I’m still knitting my first SnC one though, so it might soften when I wash it.
