Project 36: Sparkle Hat

Pattern: Sparkle Hat from Stitch’n Bitch: The Knitter’s Handbook
Yarn: 1 ball of Cleckheaton Country Naturals #1814 (Lilac) and #1806 (Beige)
Needles: 8 mm and 6 mm

This was a quick knit and I enjoyed knitting every bit of it. I knitted my Sparkle Hat with 2 strands of Cleckheaton Country Naturals (8 ply) held together instead of the recommended yarn which is Brown Sheep Company Lamb’s Pride Bulky. Therefore, I guess that’s why mine didn’t really turn out looking exactly as the one in book. Probably a little bit smaller but it’s not too bad as I’ve got a small head. However, I think the sequins that I used are slight larger than the ones used in the picture, hence mine’s look a little too funky!! :yuck:

I wonder if I should use the recommended yarn instead when I knit another one next time .

I like it, it is funky and fun. Isn’t chunky about a 16ply which would make what you did correct? I am not 100% sure, maybe someone knows the answer to that one.

The hat is cute - that’s clever of you. Yes, 16 ply should be chunky enough unless the pattern is for a 20 ply(?) - anyway, what it matters is that it fits you & you can knit another one with beads (maybe?)
