Slow and Steady

I’ve been meaning to get myself a slow cooker for quite some now and a few weeks ago, Kmart had a very good deal on the Kambrook Stainless Steel Slow Cooker. As it was such a good bargain, I knew I wouldn’t wanna miss this so after work, my sister and I rushed to the store and bought the slow cooker. So far, I’ve used it a few times already and I really liked it :) .

Yesterday, I cooked a really classic Chinese Dish called Dong Po Rou, which is a type of braised pork belly dish. Just after a few hours, the whole house was filled with the fragrance of the dish but of course, I let the pork cooked for about 8 hours, until it is soft and tender. When you put the meat into mouth, it will just melts. Yummy.

My little sister help cooked some veges to go with our dinner and we decided on stir-fry snow pea sprouts with garlic.

All in all, it was a scrumptious dinner. Wish Tian was home as I’m pretty sure he’ll love this pork dish too  .

You have made a wise decision on the slow cooker. I can never live with one especially in winter as I made all my soups in there. The pork dish looks yummy & my husband will love it too !

You definitely must try the pork dish. Just put less water than the recommended amount as we’re using slow cooker instead :)
