As the weather is finally getting colder in my part of the world, I decided to cook Bak Kut Teh for dinner as it’s been quite some time since we last had this dish and DH was pretty eager to have it for dinner as well since it’s one of his favourite dishes. I didn’t really cook it from scratch. That will be too much work
. I used the A1 Bak Kut Teh Pre-packed Spices instead to cooked the spare ribs and I added lots of garlics and chinese mushroom too. I cooked it for about an hour using my pressure cooker. The meat was so tender until it falls off the bone easily.

Serve it with some steam rice and some home grown chilli from my garden. Yum

Michelle, your “bak kut teh” looks yummy yummy!! oh you have A1 pre-packed spices in Australia!
Ann, you can try “Chick kut teh”, instead of using meat, you use chicken!! taste yummy too! but cooking time will be shorter. you can boil the spices, dried mushroom & garlic 1st and add in the chicken later. Then add in some button mushroom, straw mushroom and “foo chok”… hmm looks like i’ll cooking this for today’s dinner too!!
