Ishbel

I brought my Mum to Citi Nits when she was in Perth a few weeks back. She saw Ann’s Ishbel and wanted one too!! Of course, being the filial daughter, I told my Mum that I’d be more than delighted to knit one for her  . Here’s the shawl in all its glory!! I actually finished knitting it last week but it has been pretty cloudy the past few days, making it hard to take any nice photos.

I used quite a lot of beads on this shawl. I was a little nervous halfway as I was afraid that too much beads might be just too much for the shawl? However, the end result was quite pretty. My colleague said that the beads look like raindrops on the shawl. Showed it to my Mum via webcam last night, and she asked, “Wow, did you put diamonds on the shawl?” My sister sniggered and said, “Ma, you think she can afford to buy so many diamonds?”

Anyway, Mum will have to wait until end of the year before she gets this shawl.

Your Ishbel is divine, it looks all pastel rainbowy and the ‘diamonds’ are perfect!!!! It’s gorgeous. And I remember when you thought a little bit of rib for a scarf was all you could do. You’re a star!!!
