Project 43: Dong Qian’s Tote

Pattern: Meema’s Felted Marsupial Tote from Stitch’n Bitch: The Knitter’s Handbook
Yarn: 1 ball of Bendigo Rustic 8 Ply (Delta), 1 ball of Bendigo Rustic 8 Ply (Green Opal) and 1 ball of Bendigo Rustic 8 Ply (Aran)
Needles: 8 mm

This bag is knitted for Tian’s cousin sister. As it is such an easy knit, I actually finished it in just two days?? :-P Seems like the gift list for his relatives is getting shorter which is a huge relief!! Just in case you all don’t know, I’m actually flying off next Saturday and wont be back till 31st December. During that three weeks, I don’t think I’ll be updating my blog as my knitting progress will most definitely be halted. I’ll still be checking my emails though so do still keep in touch with me :) .

Anyway, I hope she will like this bag as I was told that she fancy blue colours. Also, I have to learn the hard way that light colours do not felt well. I’m sure that you can still see the Aran colour stitches very clearly. I felt the bag twice and it’s still showing. Oh well :yuck:.

2 FOs In A Week

During the weekend, after unpacking boxes for my kitchen, I went straight to my craft and yarn boxes :yuck:. I knitted the scarf while I take a break from unpacking boxes. Didn’t take me long to finish it as it’s quite easy and relaxing at the same time. I even manage to steam blocked it and it looks lovely. I hope that my ISE3 recipient will likes it!!

Next, I took out my Marsupial Tote because I wanted to felt it in my washing machine. It was a lot of hard work. Wanna know why?? The hot and cold water hose for the washing machine has been attached to the wrong taps. Duh!!! So intead of hot water, I got cold water. How annoying :grr:. After all the sweating and twisting, I finally got my felted marsupial tote. It is going to be a gift to my partner’s cousin’s newly wedded wife :) .

Project 39: Meema’s Felted Marsupial Tote

Pattern: Meema’s Felted Marsupial Tote from Stitch’n Bitch: The Knitter’s Handbook
Yarn: 2 balls of Sean Sheep Pure Wool (Dark Purple) and 2 balls of Sean Sheep Pure Wool (Bright Pink)
Needles: 8 mm

I have always wanted to knit the Meema’s Felted Marsupial Tote but never gotten around doing it. Last Saturday, I heard from some friendly knitters that Big W is having a clearance on the Sean Sheep yarn and that they are only $1 for each 50g ball. Tell me, who can resist that???

Off I went and I obediently avoid those fancy acrylic type of yarns and only bought pure wools. Within minutes, I had 10 balls in my basket!! :-D

As it was the long weekend, I just cast on for the bag and knit as I watch the tv :tv:!! Now that I have finished knitting the tote, all I have to do is sew in the ends and felt it. However, I won’t be able to felt it this week. Probably will only be able to felt it sometime next week. Oh well.
