A Fantastic Week

OMG! I just realised that I haven’t update my blog for almost a month now? Does that mean I’ve been a lazy girl? However, there has always been a little knitting everyday. I guess I never like to blog when I don’t have any FO to show. Now that I’m updating, I suppose that means I do have a FO to show?

First stop, there has been lots of raving about the Lincraft Bamboozle and Spotlight Moda Vera Bamboo / Cotton yarn. So I thought to myself, of course I’m not going to miss out on this and decided to jump on the bandwagon, bought myself 2 skeins of the Moda Vera Bamboo / Cotton yarn. Thought I’d tried it out as a dishcloth. I gave one of it to Julie (she’s the office receptionist…and also the Director’s wife) and just told me today that it works fantastic as a dishcloth!! I think I will be buying more of them soon??

This is the 3rd and also the last package for SP 11. It’s time to reveal the mystery now!! Anyway, I found out that my Secret Pal is Anne from Finland!!! Also, if you’re on Ravelry, don’t forget to give her a visit too!!

Oooh…that’s not the end of the week. Hang on. Be patient. Here I am (drumroll please  ), presenting to you, my third pair of hand knitted socks, the Anastasia Socks!! This time, it fits me perfectly!!! I’m a very happy happy girl!! Anyway, the only modifications that I made are using Knitty Magic cast on and Wendy’s Gusset Heel methods, instead of the short row toes and heels recommended in the pattern.

Project 45: Ballband Dishcloths

Pattern: Ballband Dishcloth from Mason-Dixon Knitting book
Yarn: Bendigo 8 Ply Cotton in New Blue, Lemon Drop and Mango
Needles: 4 mm

These pass four days, all I’ve been knitting are these Ballband Dishcloths. They’re pretty addictive and super duper easy to knit. They even make pretty gifts too. Most probably, I’ll be giving them to Tian’s aunties as gifts :)

They can either use it as a facecloth or a dishcloth since they’re both made from cotton anyway. I’ll even packed a bar of WA made soap too!!

Project 35: 3rd Dishcloth

Pattern: Swish With A Twist
Yarn: 1 ball of Bendigo 8 ply cotton (Peach Colour) and 1 ball of Panda 4 ply cotton (Red)
Needles: 4.5 mm

I finally finished the last dishcloth for my Dishcloth Swap. This is my first time attempting cables for the very first time. I must say, it’s pretty intimidating for me holding so many needles including the cable needles. Probably I’m just not used to it. Also, I noticed that my dishcloth does not look exactly like the one shown in the pattern. Have absolutely no idea what I did wrong . I hope my pal won’t mind.

Anyway, these 3 dishcloths will be nicely wrapped and ready to be posted this coming Tuesday as Monday is a public holiday here. I really hope that my pal will like these dishcloths that I’ve knitted for her.

Project 35: 2nd Dishcloth

Pattern: Waved Welt Dishcloth
Yarn: 1 ball of Bendigo 8 ply cotton (Primrose Colour) and 1 ball of Panda 4 ply cotton (Pink Swirl)
Needles: 4.5 mm

I started off knitting with just the Bendigo 8 ply cotton but I find that it’s rather thin compared to the Anchor cotton yarns. Therefore, Yin and I decided to buy another 4 ply cotton from Panda and will knit the dishcloth by holding 2 strand of yarns together. The result is much better :)

Project 35: Dishcloth Swap

Pattern: Lacy Mock Cable Cloth
Yarn: 1 ball of Anchor Magicline Colour #1420
Needles: 4 mm

This is the 1st dishcloth that I have ever knitted and it was such a fun and quick project!! :cute:I’m foreseeing many dishcloths to come!! Haha!! The anchor yarn is so colourful, thought a little pricey just for a small ball of 50g. Also, I find that in Australia, there aren’t many nice cotton yarns compare to the US where they have so many varieties and they come in so many colours. I’m so jealous. Wish we could have more of those nice yarns over here.

Now I’m thinking if I should get myself some Sugar’n Cream yarns that are so yummy from eBay. Hmm…
