Head To Toe

Finally I’ve got some knitterly updates for all of you and it covers from head to toe!!! Where do you want me to start first? Top to bottom or bottom to top? Hmm…time to make a decision. Ah well, I’ll start with the project that I finished first.

Hang on!! Before that, let me present you Blueberry Leo, modeled by my hunky hubby!! Yes, he was home and I managed to persuade him to let me take a picture of him in the sweater. Perfect fit!!! Not bad for a first man sweater I saw!!

Blueberry Leo

Back to FOs, the No 1 project is of course the Lady Eleanor Entrelac Stole for my dearest Mummy, knitted with the gorgeous Noro Silk Garden. Love the colours of the yarn but I’m not too fond of the little pieces of twigs in between the yarn every now and then. They annoyed me a lot but the colours just won me over. Therefore, I shall persevere. Entrelac isn’t as hard as I thought it would be. It’s actually very easy once you get the hang of it!! Wonder why I didn’t start the project earlier as I bought the yarn ages ago!!! Anyway, Mum loves it but she left it here in Perth!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lady Eleanor Entrelac Stole

Pattern: Lady Eleanor Entrelac Stole from Scarf Style
Yarn: 9 and 1/3 balls of Noro Silk Garden (Colour #205)
Needles: 6 mm

Since I only used 9 and 1/3 balls of the Noro Silk Garden for the stole, I used the leftover yarn for Calorimetry. I modified the pattern a little bit by casting only 80 stitches and I’m very glad I did that!! It’s a perfect fit for my small head now!! Now I can use it whenever I have bad hair days!! Hahaha  .

Lastly, I’ve finally managed to finish the remaining of the Waving Lace Socks after such a looooooooooooooooong time. I put it aside while knitting Lady E as I was hoping to finish it before the big day.

Pattern: Waving Lace Socks from Favorite Socks
Yarn: The Knittery 4ply Sock: Merino Cashmere (Orange Blossom)
Needles: 2.5 mm

Now I’m planning to start another pair of socks using my stash yarn but don’t think I’ll cast on yet as I’ve got two projects on hand at the moment. Anyway, what type of heel do you recommend? I’ve done a few pairs using Wendy’s Gusset Heel for toe up socks. What are the other easy type of heels for toe up apart from short rows?

Eight Months Of Hibernation

After eight long months of hibernation, I finally finished Leo during the Easter break last week. I actually finished knitting all the pieces since July 2007. I told myself, Leo has been an UFO long enough. It’s time to be a FO. Therefore, I took the opportunity of the Easter weekend and I finished seaming the whole sweater!! I was so happy when it’s done that I wore it and dance around the house!! I wish Tian’s home so that he can try it on. Oh well.

Pattern: Leo
Yarn: 2.5 balls of Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic 5 Ply (Blueberry)
Needles: 3.5 mm and 4 mm

Secondly, if you remember, I bought about 10 skeins of Noro Silk Garden eight months ago as well. I only started knitting with it last week too. It’s a birthday present for my Mum. Actually, it’s Mum’s birthday today. So…Happy Birthday Mum!!! Here’s a sneak peak of the project that I’m working on. I hope my Mum will like it!!

A Cheerful Wet Weekend

It has been pouring almost every single day in Perth. And it will remains wet and windy for the rest of the week based on the weather forecast. Most of the time, I always feel gloomy when it’s pouring really hard and I’m all alone at home. However, the moment I see the rainbow after the storms clear, it never fails to bring a smile to my face. :D

Now, enough of my gibberish. I made some muffins beginning of this week and I’ve been eating them every single day as my breakfast. They’re really simple and yummy bacon and mushrooms savoury muffins. :P

Bacon & Mushroom Muffins

Also, thanks to the good programs on TV during the weekend, I’m proud to say that I’ve been knitting quite a bit. I’m so happy that I finally finished knitting the sleeves for Leo!! Yay!!! However, the downside is that right now, I have to attempt the dreadful seaming. I’m really really not good with seaming!!! This is the part I hate to tackle the most!! What if I didn’t seam properly? It’ll all go to waste!!! :dead: :dead: :dead:

Leo Sleeves

Lastly, we had our City Nits yesterday and I did bring back some yummy stuff. Hehehe. Wanna know what I brought home?? Okok. I shall stop teasing you all. First, I’ve got 10 skeins of Noro Silk Garden for my Mum. Yeap. Please read that again. I repeat, it’s for my Mum. Therefore, it’s not consider my stash!! My Mum fell in love with the Lady Eleanor pattern so I decided to buy her some Noro so that she can knit one for herself. Hmmm…actually, if I have time, I should knit that for her right? Wouldn’t that be a lot nicer?? And all of you all would say that I’m such a good daughter?? :yuck:

Secondly, they’re my first batch of sock yarns from Socks That Rock!! Yay!!! :D :D :D I’ve heard so much about them I had to get some of them for myself!! However, I did get a shock especially when I saw how the colours of “Sherbet” turned up!! They didn’t look like what I saw on the screen!!! It has shocking pink, orange and yellow!!! A lot brighter that I imagine!!! I hope it’ll turn out ok once it’s being knitted!!! The other colour that I got is “Love In Idleness“Anyway, can’t wait to knit them into some lovely socks!!
