Welcoming The Year 2009

First of all, Happy New Year everyone :) I am never one to write new year’s resolution. Never have the habit and I don’t thnk I’ll start very soon either. For something more interesting and since this is the first post for the year 2009, I’m pretty happy to show you the first FO of the year.

Frock Camisole

Pattern: Frock Camisole by Katie Himmelberg
Yarn: 5 skeins of Spotlight Basics Yarn Bee Article #143, Down to Earth 50/50 Cotton Soy
Needles: 4.5 mm

Since it’s summer here now and the weather has been pretty hot the past few days, a tank top is perfectly suitable for this season. This camisole only cost me $9.95 as I bought the yarn when it’s on sale  To be honest, I’m actually quite surprise with the quality of this yarn. It has a really nice drape too. Overall, I’m very happy with this camisole although the stockinette stitch did bore me after some time.

I am never a huge fan of black colour. You will hardly find much black attire in my wardrobe at all  . The only reasons I do have a few pairs of black pants, black skirts, and black heels are mainly for work purposes. So here’s a pair of my black heels that I bought just for work. It’s pretty comfortable since it’s a Diana Ferrari.

So, how is your wardrobe like? Does it have lots of blacks and whites or very colourful? I’m sure you can tell by now that mine is definitely very colourful

Lady In Red

Finally I have another FO to show!! This took me more than two weeks and just in time for Christmas too!!! Don’t you think I look very Christmassy too? I really love the colour of this yarn as it’s such a pretty red too!! I can hear the song “Lady in Red” in the background. Can you hear that?

Bonsai Tunic

Pattern: Bonsai Tunic by Norah Gaughan
Yarn: 8 balls of Moda Vera Bamboo/Cotton
Needles: 4 mm and 4.5 mm

Anyway, here’s a pair of my favourite shoes. I know it looks old and dirty. That’s because I have had this pair of chucks for more than 3 years now and I’ve really worn it out!! There are also some bite marks on it too!! One of the shoes even have bits of its tongue chewed off!! However, this is definitely one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I have and I bet it will still last me for quite awhile. Do you have a favourite pair of shoes that you wore it to death?

Lastly, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Christmas Presents

Mixture of Emotions

The past few days was really hot and humid. Right now, it’s still about 28 degrees Celcius. I think I’m going to sleep in the living room tonight with the air-con on. Anyway, since summer is still here, I thought I’d knit another top so that I can wear it out and I managed to finish it within less than two weeks too!!

Summertime Tunic

Too Big?

Sadly, as you can see, it seems a little too big on me, although my gauge was spot on and I knitted the smallest size too!! Oh well, I’ve decided to give this to her (lucky her!!! ) and I’ll probably make another one for myself, maybe next year. Also, this is my first time knitting with Debbie Bliss Cotton DK. However, I don’t think I’ll be buying this yarn next time. I found two knots in a ball, in at least two balls and some have at least a knot. Not happy at all.

Yarn: 7 balls of Debbie Bliss Cotton DK
Needles: 3.5 mm and 4 mm

The Birthday Boy

On another note, it was Momo’s birthday on the 31st January. He turned four years old this year. Since it was a Thursday (night shopping), I thought I’d rushed home, feed them and go out quickly to get a nice present for him. I bought him a Kong Wubba toy and a pig’s ear as a treat. I was really in a happy mood until I reached home.

   I found one of my shoes, the heel part was bitten. One of them spoilt my shoes. Aaarrrggghhh!!! I forgot to put my shoes in the cupboard because I was rushing to go out to get his presents!!! And worst of all, I’ve no idea who did it!! Who’s the naughty one!! Who’s the culprit? Momo or Coco? Both of them were hiding under the dining table. Both got spanked on their butts. Ignore them for the rest of the night. Was meant to celebrate his birthday.   I was soooooo upset and angry at the same time.

Momo’s Pressies

Sigh  I couldn’t really stay mad at them for long. Before I go to bed, I gave him his Kong Wubba, and he hug it to sleep.
