Pink Is Back

I’ve been a bad blogger but not a bad knitter  . Been knitting everyday and at last, I finally got something to show you. It’s just a simple bolero that I’ve been knitting for the past few weeks. Weekend was spent knitting and frogging, knitting again and frogging again, and finally knitting and no more frogging. That was quite a relief as I almost already had the pattern printed on my head from all those repeats.

Yes, I read the sleeves pattern wrongly. Was meant to decrease on each end, I only decrease on one end. By the time I realised the mistake, it was too late. Off to the frog pond. Second sleeves was knitted on the remaining yarn from the 1st sleeve. Thought I was smart enough and figure that it might be enough for another sleeve. Boy was I wrong. Only 5 more rows to go and I was left it half a metre of yarn. Off to the frog pond again.

I finished knitting both the fronts and back quite some time ago. I also learn how to bind off using the three needle bind off for the first time too. This method was recommended by Ann for the shoulder seams. I’m so happy that the seams look so neat and the method was really easy as well. Also, I followed Ann’s method of knitting the bolero, as in both the fronts and back in one piece. That means, no side seams!! Yay!!

Anyway, was having some issues while trying to photograph my process. You will know what I mean when you look at them. :grr: I was pretty annoyed.

Project 47: Ribbed Mohair Shrug

Pattern: Ribbed Mohair Shrug from Jo Sharp Knit Issue 2
Yarn: 2 skeins of Moda Vera Sentiments
Needles: 7 mm

Lately I’ve been into bolero or shrug frenzy. This is the third bolero that I’ve knitted this year!! I have heaps of sleeveless blouse or sleeves t-shirt but sometimes, they aren’t really proper for workplace. Therefore, when you wear a bolero or shrug on top of those tops, it totally change the way the outfit looks. Of course, that’s just my perception :-D and not many people might agree with me. I’m not a person that follow trends nor style. I just wear whatever I feel comfortable with. In fact, I have my own style so to speak :yuck:.

Oh, just want to tell you all that once again, I knitted this shrug from my stash!!!

Project 46: Cloud Boleros

Pattern: Cloud Bolero
Yarn: 2 and 1/2 skeins of Moda Vera Joanne (Color Number 100) for each bolero
Needles: 8 mm

Drumroll please!! :-D Presenting you with my first FO for the year 2007!! The Cloud Boleros!! Ok. I shall stop with my silliness . I have always wanted to knit myself a bolero and when I came across this pattern, off I went to dig around my stash and I found a suitable yarn for it. Something fancy and chunky too!!

Moda Vera Joanne

As it is knitted in 8 mm needles, it was pretty quick!! However, I realised that it was a bit too big for me. Therefore, I gave it to lovely Yin since she likes the bolero too. Without wasting anytime, I went home and cast on another one for myself and finished it within a few days later.
