Love

This is actually my first time participating a contest in digital scrapbooking and I really hope that I didn’t do too bad since I’m still a noob in digital scrapbooking. I kinda got hooked after designing the layout for my dearest Pongo and coincidentally, Valerie is hosting her first contest on her blog!! I suppose this is an opportunity for me to learn?? So Valerie, how is my layout??

My Handsome Boy

My Handsome Boy

My Dearest Handsome Boy,

Why did you had to leave us so early? I’m already coming back middle of next week and I was actually really looking forward to see you and play with you. Why didn’t you tell us that you weren’t feeling well? I would have ask Mum and Dad to bring you to the Vet earlier. Why can’t you even wait for me? You didn’t even give me a chance to say goodbye!! I didn’t even get to hug you!! I miss you so much Pongo!! I still remember the very first day I saw you!! You were such a cute little puppy and I would carry you around. Although I don’t get to see you that often after I flew to Perth, that doesn’t mean I love you any less. I’ve always love playing soccer with you and you are a really good goal keeper!!!

I can’t stop thinking about you since Tuesday and tears just kept flowing when I knew I won’t be able to see you again, or play with you, or give you any hugs  . I really miss you a lot. I know you’re in a better place now. I hope that you’re happy wherever you are and that you’ll have lots of friends who loves you as much as I do. Pongo, you will always have a special place in my heart and I love you dearly.

Another Quiet Long Weekend

I used to look forward to a long weekend but whenever DH is not around, it’s just another quiet weekend for me. It’s been raining whole day, with thunderstorms. Nice weather to just sit comfortbly at the sofa, watch some tv and knit, with a cup of hot milo to warm up too. But of course, it’ll be a lot nicer if DH is around. Oh well. Just 10 more days and he’ll be home soon. Can’t wait!!!

On another note, I started another pair of socks about two weeks ago. I actually finished knitting one sock last week BUT I couldn’t wear it. It was too tight although my tension, yarn, and needle size, number of stitches per round were all the same as my previous other socks. By the way, the pattern I’m using is Nutkin. Ann offered to frog the leg section as recommended that I knit the leg section in bigger needles. I’ve always use 2.5 mm needles therefore, for the leg of this sock, I used 2.75 mm. I’ve just finished reknitting the leg and this time, I can finally wear the sock although I still have to pull a little just to get it over my heels.

Nutkin

Now, my dilemma is, should I knit the 2nd sock the same way, as in using 2.5 mm for the sole and 2.75 mm for the leg, or should I just used 2.75 mm all the way? I do admit that this sock pattern, the stitches are kinda tight and I can feel my sole section are a little tight compare to my other socks too. Sigh. I’m not 100% happy with this sock pattern although it’s really pretty. Apart from that, this sock pattern has a little twisting/biasing issues.

I have another FO to show as well. It was a special request from my friend Ju Lee who is in Melbourne. She asked if I could knit her another scarf (I knitted her a few scarf last year I think?) and of course I said yes. She choose the Irish Hiking Scarf. Yupz. Cables!!! I’ve never done cables before!!! So I was kinda erm, not really looking forward to knitting it as I always assume cables are hard  . Boy was I wrong!! Cables aren’t that hard at all!!! This scarf pattern is definitely a good pattern for cables newbie like me. Anyway, I’ve posted the scarf to her a few days ago. She should be receiving it sometime next week and I hope that she’ll like the scarf :) .
